You've assumed correctly that I have taken part in this fest as a writer, too (and if you've glanced at the collection, you've probably recognised my fic, even though it's not the only one I haven't commented on). In the end, I did come up with a story for Salt & Pepper, and I managed to sign up just before the deadline. (That story isn't even half miserable, and I'm rather fond of it myself.)
Oh, I can't really rec my Fireside Tale as a treat! I've been aware that the title alone is off-putting enough, even though Your Little Head doesn't need to be interpreted as referring to the reader's head. :) My second-person protagonist's head is definitely full of miserable things, and I hope you'll find something lovely to read that will make you feel better!
