Like some other people at the Sunshine Challenge, I didn't expect indigo to be a prompt. My post is perhaps a bit too purple, but there's some magic here at least.

I'm proudly showing this banner so as to tempt you all to participate in the next edition of Firewhiskey Fic – this Saturday, the 25th!
Last time (my very first time) was for me (not too long after I'd returned from hiatus and offered my motorbike rides, as I mentioned in my previous post) one of the best experiences of community feel in fandom. For once I – an eternal Remus/Sirius writer – managed not to take writing fic too siriusly. I used all the prompts, one of which was Severus Snape, and surprised myself when while writing a piece full of tipsy typos, I ended up revealing a whole new dimension in my Remus's love life.
The beat for that lovely drunken January night was given to me by Sia in Cheap Thrills:
I chose that version here first because of the colour, but there's another one with a fun video and featuring Sean Paul
The lyrics It's Friday night and I won't be long/ 'Til I hit the dance floor/ Hit the dance floor/
I got all I need/ No, I ain't got cash/ I ain't got cash/ But I got you, baby/ Baby, I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight/ I love cheap thrills
changed in my singing into:
It's Saturday and I won't be long/ 'Til I hit the keyboard/ Hit the keyboard!
Come join in the cheap thrills offered by the fandom! And note, this event is open also for other than HP fic. Any (drunken) fanart is welcome, too.

Date: 2020-07-23 02:17 pm (UTC)I'll just warm up with this song by Korpiklaani, hehe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia39lwHvPCE
(You could make a whole playlist just with their songs about drinking or alcoholic beverages...)

Date: 2020-07-25 07:54 pm (UTC)I'm glad you liked the video! It always cheers me up to watch it, even though I don't know what the song is about (all I know is that their English version has nothing to do with the Finnish version.)

Date: 2020-07-26 06:29 pm (UTC)Good luck with your fic-writing! And thank you for the link to the translation - that is indeed completely different from the English version!

Date: 2020-07-24 03:57 pm (UTC)I don't think I've ever heard Cheap Thrills?? What a perfect vibe for FWF! GAH. Love both versions, and I can totally feel "indigo" in them. Thank you for sharing.

Date: 2020-07-25 10:51 am (UTC)I'm thrilled that while you've known about and even read at FWF before, I may have contributed to your decision to come and drink and write this time... Yay, looking forward to whatever your frivolous typing will lead to!
I'm exceptionally at a friend's and away from my laptop. I'll be a bit late to start but not too late. How fun that you, too, feel the FWF vibes in Cheap Thrills. Only now do I realise there's no mention of drinking in it - not needed!
